SC Storm takes on the Las Vegas Highrollers

The Santa Clarita Storm will take on the Las Vegas Highrollers in a friendly match on October 6th at Carver Middle School in Los Angeles, CA. at 4:00p.m.
The Highrollers is the newest NASL Division II pro team that will make its season debut in 2013. The club has been playing for several years in Los Angles, CA and has now emerged as a pro team with a board of directors that consists of such names in Futbol as Franz Beckenbauer, regarded as one of the most famous German footballers of all time. He was voted third behind Johan Cruyff and Pele for the European player of the century by IFFHS. Mario Zagallo, a Brazilian that started his footballer career in America in 1948 was the first footballer to win the World Cup as a player in 1958,1962, and as a manager in 1970. He won again as an assistant coach in the1994 World Cup with the Brazilian national team. Zagallo also coached his country to a 4th place finish in the 1974 World Cup and to a 2nd place finish in the 1998 Cup.
In addition, on the board of directors for the Highrollers is PELE, a name that needs no explanation or introduction. Yes, the very same PELE, a National hero of Brazilian soccer scoring over 760 goals. He scored in 541 in-league championships making him the top scorer of all time. In total, PELE scored 1281 goals in 1363 games. He will be forever known worldwide for his accomplishments.
Also with the Highrollers is Carlos Alberto Torres, another Brazilian World Cup hero named by PELE as one of the top 125 greatest living footballers in 2004. Torres not only played in Brazil but also came to the US in 1977 and played in New York City for the Cosmos where he was reunited with his friend PELE. He won three National titles in the NASL in 1977,1978, and 1982. Torres was a five-time all-star in the NASL.

The Highrollers consists mainly of International players and as one might guess a lot of Brazilians. The Storms players Jayro Martines and Derek Dodrill are presently training with the team for a possible spot. This looks to be an exciting team and the friendly match should prove to be interesting, and the Storm will be looking for an Affiliation to start here.

Come catch the action on Saturday October 6, 2012 at 4p.m. at the George Carver Middle School in Los Angeles, CA.

City of Santa Clarita and the Storm renew for 2013

F.C.S.C (Futbol Club Santa Clarita) Storm and the City of Santa Clarita have come to an agreement to continue their partnership though the 2013 season. The City of Santa Clarita and the Storm will continue their support of each other in the coming year. The Storm will show its appreciation by wearing the city logo this year on the right sleeve of the Storm  uniforms & will proudly display the City's seal & other emblems on their display banners at every home game.
"The City has been a breath of fresh air for us." said Gerald Brunner; CEO & President of United Sports International Inc. (the parent Corporation that operates F.C.S.C.). "Russell Sypowicz and the rest of the City staff  have been a great support in our first year in Santa Clarita." Brunner went on to say; "It makes a real difference when the City that you wish to represent welcomes you and works with you. That is something we have not been use to. It's tough
enough trying to build a program of this type, but when the City you are working in does not support you it becomes an almost impossible task."
"We are dedicated to bringing a professional sports organization that is successful both on and off the  field." The parent corporation United Sports International Inc. (U.S.I) intends to bring the community of the Santa Clarita Valley together through sports and  through supporting the community by bringing family entertainment and  professional influence to the youth groups with in the community."
"We hope to bring more friendly matches with teams from different professional  levels in an effort to bring more awareness to the City and the sport of soccer in  general." said Brunner. "The Storm are looking to have another excellent season and will enjoy building a successful professional soccer program with the City of Santa
Clarita".
Footnote:
The Storm will l
ook to secure a home stadium for the 2013 season. Last season we enjoyed the hospitality of four
stadiums, Canyon High School (4 games), Hart High School (1 game), Valencia High School (1 league game & 1 international game), Golden Valley High School (1 game).ll were great facilities and the help from the school employees was unsurpassed. However, the Storm would like one location to call home, and will make an effort to secure the one stadium as soon as possible.
