Storm collects third win in a row. 4-1 over Trigueros
Storm came from behind to capture their third win in as many
games with a 4-1 win over Trigueros Saturday night at George Carver Middle
School in Los Angeles. It was suitable weather for the Storm with a
steady drizzle of rain though out the night. The Trigueros started strong with
pressure right from the start and keeping the Storm in their own Offensive zone.
Then in the 12th minute of play, the Trigueros got past the Storm defense with
a ball through the legs of a Storm defender, it was picked up by the Trigueros
forward who got the first goal of the night past Storms keeper Steven
Rodriguez. But just Seven minutes later it was the Storms turn as Tyler
Coombes battling in front of the Trigueros net managed a pass to Jesus
Lopez who Volleyed the ball and then chest trapped it and loft it in to tie
up the score.
In the second half with the score tied at one it was
Lopez again with the ball except this time it was he who set up Mauricio
Harrie in the 65th minute with a cross that found the feet of Harrie and
with a quick shot passed the keeper two now take the lead. The Storm was just
beginning to build as in the 75th minute it was Lopez again with a pass up
field and it was a through ball to forward Tyler Coombes. After missing an opportunity in the first
half of play Coombes made sure this one counted has, he beat the keeper
and gave the Storm a more comfortable lead of two goals. The Storm was clicking
now and with the biggest percentage of possession they were looking like the
team that was coming together with a series of passes and build ups, and it was
only a short time then in the 83rd minute when Tyler Coombes
received the ball midfield and carried it through the defense and creating a
break away. But a Trigueros defense caught up with
Coombes and forced him to the side of the net and before going out Coombes made a nice neat pass along the goal line to the feet of the attacking Mauricio Harrie who collected his second goal of the night. That was enough to lead the Storm to their third victory in a row with a 4-1 win. The Storm now has a record of 3-0-3 in the LA Premier Soccer League with 9 points.
