Santa Clarita Storm To Play in a Pre-Season Round Robin

On March 3rd your  Storm will be traveling to the University of Irvine to play in a round robin against the host team the Anteaters as well as the University of San Diego Toreros. These games will be open to the public, and the schedule is as follows:

F.C.S.C Signs 4 New Additions to Their 2012 Roster

     Storm Signs Four More to Roster for 2012
   Futbol Club Santa Clarita’s Men’s Premier Soccer team has signed four more players to their 2012 roster pending
                                                                    USASA, and NPSL approvals.
                                     Cedrique Nguimzon 22 years old - Forward - Bapaussam, Cameroon                                         Alan Benauente 31 years old - Defender - Chatsworth, California
                                       Jorge Hernandez  23 years old - Forward - Los Angeles, California
                                          Roman Ramero 26 years old – Forward - Van Nuys, California   

      
Cedrique Nguimzon is a 22 year old forward who originates from Cameroon, came to the United States in 2008 along with his mother and siblings to live with their father Jean-Claude Nguimzon (Who he has lived for the past five years in Palmdale, California). Cedrique started his career in soccer at a very young age in Cameroon playing in the Centre Sportif for five years then transferred to CapeFoot (a third division Futbol Club) and helped his team to a championship in 2006. In 2007 he transferred again to Barsseries Du Cameroun a preparation Futbol Club, which is  where the majority of the Cameroon Mens International team comes from.

 Jorge Hernandez is a forward but can also double as a right side midfielder.Hernandez is very versatile player, not only being able to play multiple positions, but also Hernandez also having the ability to play with both right
and left feet. Jorge brings several personal accomplishments to the team with a Golden Boot award leading in scoring for his high school team in 06 and 07,  he also receiving player of the year. Hernandez has had the honor of playing against several competitive teams in several leagues such as the Coast Soccer League with the Santa Monica United and playing in the Blboa League playing for Pumas.  Hernandez also helped F.C. Kaiser to a Division Championship in the Mustang League.


 Alan Benavente  is a 6 foot 1 inch center defender who at the age of 31brings the experience The Storm needs in the back line. Benavente has experience with Hollywood Way soccer club, as well as semi-professional team Makina. Alan helped his team to two three-league championships from 2007 to 2010 & looks to bring a solid addition to the Storm’s defense pairing up with new comer Mathew Shaxton.

 Roman Ramiro, a local Van Nuys player who will be joining  the Storm has a defender and stands 5'8" and will be playing left back. he comes to the Storm with O.D.P. (Olympic Development Program) experience at the age of 15 and played at Victor Valley college. 


 In total, The Storm have also signed three defenders; Mathew Shaxton, Alan Benauente, and Roman Ramero,
three forwards; Martin Galvan, Cedrique Nguimzon, and Jorge Hernandez; and two midfielders; Richard Galvan and
Tyler Coomes so far this year.

     Santa Clarita Storm will now prepare for the Five Star Winter Classic tournament to be held February 25th and 26th in Santa Clarita’s Central Park.The following weekend; March 3, the Storm will travel to University of California Irvine to take on the Anteaters in a friendly match. This will be the finial tune up before beginning The U.S. Open Cup Qualifying on March 10. The Cup Qualifier  is a set of games spanning over the month of March in a single elimination for the opportunity to compete in the Lamar Hunt Open Cup. One of the biggest and oldest tournaments in the United States including teams from almost every adult league in the country, There are teams from the USASA, NPSL, USL as well as pro leagues like the USL Pro, NASL, and MLS.

Storm signs Cline to a third year as Head Coach

Santa Clarita, California- Futbol Club Santa Clarita would like to announce the signing of Head Coach Jarrod Cline for his third term as the leader of the Storm. Cline began in 2010 with the organization when they were in the Antelope Valley, then as the Lancaster Rattlers of the United Soccer Leagues, & continued into 2011 when the team switched leagues to the National Primer Soccer Leagues & changed their name to the Rattlers F.C. After getting tired of a stubborn City Council in the A.V., the now F.C.S.C. Storm decided to nestle into the Santa Clarita Valley where they were welcomed with open arms and have never been more satisfied. Bringing Cline’s experience and familiarity with the organization will only the solidify The Storm’s presence in Santa Clarita.
Cline who finished last year with a record of three wins, eleven losses, and zero ties looks too much improve in Santa Clarita in 2012.  With not only the support of the city but also the influx of new and exciting talent, combined with some key returning players; the Storm will be the team to watch in this season. Cline came to the club in 2010 with quite the coaching record. Coach Cline took over the Palmdale High School boys Varsity squad in 2005 and recorded a 112-37-16 overall record.  Coach Cline took P.H.S to two Golden League Championships (2005-06 and 2009-10), Champions of the Lancaster Eagle Cup and Upland Tournament (2009-10), made it to semi-finals of the CIF-Div. 1 (2005-06), and qualified for CIF playoffs every year. Coach Cline has seen many of his players move on to top colleges; Taft College, UC Irvine, Kansas Wesleyan University, Cal State Los Angeles, Cal Baptist University, College of the Canyons, and more. As well as professional teams such as; Atlas —Mexican Professional League, Portland Timbers, Rochester Rhinos, F.C.S.C Storm, & Rattlers FC & other teams around the US.  Due to Cline’s consistent coach, P.H.S has been nominated to the top 10 coach’s poll for their division 5 of the past 6 years.   read the rest of the story +

F.C.S.C. Storm Begins To Build it's Roster for it's Inaugural 2012 season.

Santa Clarita, California- After several months of looking at players and even staging them in an International face off with Mexican Power House Chivas Guadalajara's Under 20's, Futbol Club Santa Clarita Storm is ready to start making selections to roster players for the 2012 season.

    One of the stand outs that walked on in camp after the initial tryouts in September were held, and do very well for himself is Matt Shaxton. A 6'1", 185lb defensive player who lives locally in Santa Clarita.
Originally from England, Matt played from youth until just about three years ago. "Matt just the right size and shows excellent ability with his feet when controlling the ball and moving with and without the ball. At
camp he shows excellent skill and athleticism, and you could tell his technical ability. " said Gerald Brunner, CEO and director of operations for F.C.S.C. As a youth in England Matt played with Bristol City Academy,AFC Academy, and from 2003 until 2006 played in England at the Semi-Pro level with three different clubs; Bridgewater Town, Gloucester City & Cirencester Town, and won the Southern English League National Trophy with Hartpury College in 2008. Shaxton then came to the United States
and found himself in Bakersfield playing div. 1 at Cal State Bakersfield and leading his team as Captain. Shaxton captured the MVP title at Cal State Bakersfield in 2009 and was selected to the Mountain Pacific Sport Federations All Conference First Team.

Santa Clarita Storm will Re-Sign Three players form 2011; Tyler Coombes, as well as Richard and Martin Galvan. Tyler, while sharing the responsibilities of Captain with the Storm, also shared the top slot in points for the team last year. Coombes who is an Antelope Valley player who after a very successful youth career with the local Palmdale Thunder Club team from ages 12 to 17 was recognized for his leadership by wearing the captain arm band all five years, and was voted M.V.P of his U-15, U-16 and U-17 teams.
